Four transfers Man Utd can complete this week with window set to open | Football | Sport

Manchester United will swiftly attempt to address their disastrous campaign under Ruben Amorim, and Erik ten Hag before him, by revamping the squad in the summer transfer window. Clubs can officially buy and sell players from Sunday, with United expected to try and conclude deals as quickly as possible to get them up to speed before next season. Here, Express Sport has taken a look at four moves that could be completed this week as the Red Devils look to make a drastic overhaul.

    Marcus Rashford

Marcus Rashford is very likely to depart Old Trafford after his public falling-out with Amorim earlier in the season. He enjoyed a successful loan spell at Aston Villa, which was curtailed by injury, and is set to leave with United demanding a fee in the region of £40million.

Should a team, be that Villa or another interested party, come to United with a proposal that meets their asking price, a deal could be concluded swiftly.

Speaking after Villa’s last game of the season, a controversial defeat to United, Rashford said: “Just a message of thanks to everyone here at Villa for what has (injury aside) been an incredible few months for me. It is a really special club and I appreciated the way Villa fans embraced me with open arms from 1st minute on the pitch.

“Manager, team, and coaching staff have all been brilliant. I know it is a huge disappointment not to have made the Champions League place which everyone worked so hard all season for but I know this club and team will come back stronger.”

    Matheus Cunha

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims that a deal to sign Wolves talisman Matheus Cunha has been completely agreed and he will become a new United player.

The Red Devils will trigger Cunha’s £62.5m release clause as soon as it can be activated, making him the first signing of the summer. He could join when the window opens on Sunday, June 1.

    Jadon Sancho

Chelsea have an obligation to buy Jadon Sancho outright from United, as part of the loan arrangement that saw the former England winger head to Stamford Bridge for the season. Should that be taken up, the 25-year-old could finally end his United disaster once and for all.

However, Enzo Maresca’s side can pay a £5m penalty to nullify that obligation and send him back to Manchester. That decision will be made after a post-season summit, according to The Independent.

But if Chelsea want to keep Sancho going into next season, a move could be completed as soon as this week.

    Alejandro Garnacho

Amorim has already told Alejandro Garnacho to find a new club, with Napoli and Chelsea thought to be among the most interested parties.

He spoke out against the head coach’s team selection for the Europa League final and will be sold promptly, with the funds able to be entirely reinvested as the Argentine counts as a homegrown player on the financial books, appeasing PSR concerns.

Chelsea would have done a lot of the groundwork for a potential transfer in January, when they were in negotiations that ultimately proved unsuccessful, ensuring that a deal could get over the line in swift fashion.
