Flood and severe weather threat in Arkansas
Hello friends, and meteorologist William Morrison here *** quick check of your forecast. Well, we’re looking pretty good out there with, uh, some sunshine helping, uh, to dry us out *** little bit, uh, after earlier rains, heavy rainfall, especially for us in the River Valley where it led to some flooding, and you might think, hey, we’re done for the rain for today. Uh, well, I wish I could say otherwise. We’re still tracking, uh, several disturbances that will come through our Memorial Day holiday weekend, plus *** boundary that is draped nearby. So between the two, we’re still tracking. Uh, rain and storm chances and those rain and storm chances do return later on this evening, especially for us in Northwest Arkansas. There’s still some uncertainty as far as, uh, additional development after earlier rains which have, which is really washed out the atmosphere. So we’re waiting to see if the atmosphere, uh, can destabilize again. Um, spawning off the potential for additional showers and storms, uh, upstream across Northeast Oklahoma, perhaps making their way into our area through the overnight hours tonight, waking up tomorrow morning with mild temperatures and *** possibility. Of rain and storms in the area, but I do think that what develops upstream in uh northeast Oklahoma we’ll have *** better chance of coming through our area tomorrow morning. You can see here the models are outlining the idea that it could have some rain, thunderstorms, perhaps *** cluster or *** complex of thunderstorms move through the morning hours of our Sunday. Bring some hail, damaging winds, but I think really as you can see here, additional rainfall, heavy rainfall, especially across the river valley where this morning we’ve already, like I said, had flooding issues. Uh this wave, this next wave of moisture looks to come through the better part of our Sunday. We might get *** break tomorrow evening and we’ll see how much time the atmosphere has to. Uh, get its act together to perhaps give us another round of showers and storms with another disturbance that come through again with that boundary nearby tomorrow overnight into Monday morning again with mild temperatures for the start of our day. So I’ll talk more about tomorrow’s severe day, Monday’s impact day tonight at 69, and 10. Until then, have *** great evening and I hope to see you then.
