One of the twelve jurors that helped decide the fate of Karen Read in her retrial for murder in the death of Boston police officer John O’Keefe is speaking out just one day after the verdict was handed down in an interview with TMZ.Juror #4, only identified as “Jason”, says that he had more than reasonable doubt about the accusations against Read, and believes that she is innocent of the charges brought against her. However, he stops short of saying that he believes she was framed by police.”I can only base off of the evidence that was shown in the courtroom,” the juror tells TMZ. “So I don’t really know if there was a cover-up or not. I know that’s the big conspiracy around it, but I don’t really know. All I know is there was a lot of holes in the investigation.””Jason” says that at he start of deliberations, a few people initially thought that Read was guilty but later changed their mind, while others remained unsure.A little more than halfway through testimony in the retrial, “Jason” had his seating assignment in the jury box changed after judge Beverly Cannone informed the courtroom that an issue had been brought to her attention before questioning each juror individually. “Jason” was originally seated closest to the witness stand but switched places with a female juror. And as for the crowds gathered in front of the courthouse every day, “Jason” says the jury did notice them and felt that it added to the pressure put on the jurors, but he doesn’t feel it changed the outcome.”I don’t think having all those people swayed me to go either way. We were only tasked with looking at the evidence.”

A little more than halfway through testimony in the retrial, “Jason” had his seating assignment in the jury box changed after judge Beverly Cannone informed the courtroom that an issue had been brought to her attention before questioning each juror individually. “Jason” was originally seated closest to the witness stand but switched places with a female juror.

And as for the crowds gathered in front of the courthouse every day, “Jason” says the jury did notice them and felt that it added to the pressure put on the jurors, but he doesn’t feel it changed the outcome.

“I don’t think having all those people swayed me to go either way. We were only tasked with looking at the evidence.”
