Farah Khan reveals bizarre Bollywood superstition where if the heroine falls on set, the film’s a hit; cites examples of Kajol and Preity Zinta
Farah Khan, during a vlog with Sanya Malhotra, shared a humorous superstition about actresses falling on set, linking it to a film’s success. She recalled instances with Kajol and Preity Zinta, joking about nudging actors for luck. The vlog also featured lighthearted banter and a spontaneous casting pitch involving Sanya’s cook, Sushila, and Farah’s cook, Dilip.

Farah Khan, in a recent conversation with Sanya Malhotra, dished out not just recipes but also a hilarious “lucky charm” theory about actresses falling on set in her recent vlog. What followed was a riot of superstition, sass, and spontaneous casting pitches—all served up with Farah’s signature wit.Recently, Farah and her popular cook Dilip visited actor Sanya’s home for a fun cook-along session. During their chat, Farah spotted a scar on Sanya’s left leg, which the actor revealed was from a bike accident while filming Pataakha, her film with Radhika Madan directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. Farah then jokingly pointed out a quirky superstition they’ve noticed—that movies where the heroine falls on set often end up becoming hits. The director humorously recalled a long-standing superstition from her sets, noting that whenever an actress accidentally fell during filming, the movie often turned out to be a hit. She cited examples like Kajol, who tripped multiple times while shooting Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and Preity Zinta, who slipped during a scene in Kal Ho Naa Ho. Farah, who choreographed both films, joked that such incidents became oddly reassuring for the crew, to the point where she now playfully nudges actors on set just to keep the “lucky” tradition alive. As expected, Farah’s latest vlog delivered its signature dose of light-hearted banter and candid fun. While cooking with Sanya and her ever-popular kitchen companion Dilip, an amusing exchange unfolded when Sanya’s cook, Sushila, jokingly asked Farah to consider her for a film role. Farah quickly quipped that instead of casting her alongside Sanya, she’d rather create a film starring Sushila and Dilip, centered around Bihar and Jharkhand. Sushila playfully protested, saying Dilip was already a superstar and she needed to earn her stardom first—but Farah insisted she’s always game to work with fresh talent.
