Divya Dutta reveals why she chose not to marry despite receiving ‘a lot’ of male attention: 'Rather than lowering yourself in a relationship...'
Divya Dutta shared her perspective on marriage, emphasizing the importance of genuine emotional connection over societal expectations. She values self-worth and contentment, finding fulfillment in her close friendships and personal growth. Dutta was recently seen in the box office hit ‘Chhaava’ and will appear next in ‘Nastik’ alongside Arjun Rampal.

Divya Dutta has always carved her own path—both on and off screen. In a recent interview, the acclaimed actor opened up about her personal choice to remain unmarried, sharing honest reflections on love, companionship, and self-worth, while also shedding light on her upcoming projects.Sharing her thoughts on marriage, Divya told Hindi Rush that it’s wonderful to be married if one finds the right partner, but life can be equally fulfilling without it. She believes it’s better to nurture oneself than remain in a dysfunctional relationship. While she acknowledged receiving plenty of male attention and enjoying it, she emphasized that true companionship should come from a genuine emotional connection. Until then, she’s content with her close circle of friends and her own company. The actress further shared that she has no desire to get married but wouldn’t mind having a companion to travel and share life with. Even without that, she said she’s perfectly happy. Recalling a quote her best friend once sent her, she joked that when asked why she’s still single despite being attractive and caring, she replies, “I think I’m overqualified.” She reflected on how she once believed a partner was essential for feeling complete, but over time, she’s let go of that notion. While she used to wear her heart on her sleeve, she no longer does.Divya was last seen in Chhaava, directed by Laxman Utekar. The film starred Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, with Akshaye Khanna as Emperor Aurangzeb and Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai Bhonsale. A massive box office success, Chhaava earned ₹807.88 crore worldwide and is now streaming on Netflix. She will next be seen in Nastik, alongside Arjun Rampal. Directed by Shailesh Verma, the film also stars Ihana Dhillon and Bajrangi Bhaijaan fame Harshaali Malhotra. The release date is yet to be announced.
