Lots of people are spending time outdoors this weekend. Conveniently, Metro Detroit’s temperatures are moving in the right direction and closer to normal just in time for Memorial Day.

Despite the gradual warmup, Saturday night will be chilly. Temperatures will fall below 50 degrees in most locations by midnight. Overnight lows will be in the 40- to 45-degrees range for most of the region. Expect lows in the mid-40s in Detroit, Roseville, Grosse Pointe, Gibraltar and Monroe. Lows will be around 40 degrees in Hartland, Fenton, Clarkston, Lapeer and Port Huron. Clouds will decrease, and winds will be light out of the northwest.

    Sunday

Sunday will bring lots of sunshine. Whether you will attend a ceremony, parade or Movement in Hart Plaza, consider taking a light jacket for the mornings and nights.

Sunday afternoon’s temperatures are expected to push into the mid-60s in Southeast Michigan. (WDIV)

Afternoon temperatures are expected to push into the mid-60s. Expect lows in the mid-40s, under partly cloudy to mostly clear skies

    Monday

Memorial Day will bring comfortable weather to Southeast Michigan. Temperatures will peak at around 70 degrees in the afternoon, but that is still lower than the average high of 74 degrees.

    Looking Ahead

The weather pattern stays quiet until Wednesday, when atmospheric conditions become unsettled. A few rain showers will be possible Wednesday through Friday, with temperatures mostly around 70 degrees. Highs on Friday could reach the mid-70s in some parts of Southeast Michigan.
