Brown Eggs Pulled From Shelves After Salmonella Outbreak Sickens 95 People

There’s an active recall underway on brown eggs connected to a multistate Salmonella outbreak, the FDA announced Wednesday.

The eggs, sourced from Country Eggs, LLC, of Lucerne Valley, Calif., have sickened 95 people across 14 states. Eighteen people have been hospitalized, but no deaths have been reported.

Here’s what you need to know, including how to identify the recalled eggs and what to do if you have them in your refrigerator.

All recalled eggs are described as large brown cage-free “sunshine” or “omega-3 golden” yolk eggs and were sent to grocery stores and food service distributors in California and Nevada between June 16, 2025 and July 9, 2025.

The eggs were sold in dozen packs under the following brand names, sell by dates, and codes:

    • Nagatoshi Produce with sell by dates of 7/1/25 through 9/18/25 and code No. CA 7695
    • Misuho with sell by dates of 7/1/25 through 9/18/25 and code No. CA 7695
    • Nijiya Markets with sell by dates of 7/1/25 through 9/18/25 and code No. 7695

The eggs were also sold in bulk for food service with the following information:

    • Country Eggs LARGE BROWN SUNSHINE YOLKS (1/15 Dozen) with sell by dates of 7/1/25 through 9/18/25

The FDA and CDC identified 95 people across 14 states who have been infected with Salmonella Enteritidis—some of whom reported exposure to eggs or egg-containing dishes before becoming ill.

Based on that information, the FDA identified Country Eggs, LLC as a common supplier for the eggs that made people sick.

Country Eggs, LLC agreed to recall the potentially contaminated eggs that may still be in people’s homes.

If you have the recalled eggs, you should not consume them. Instead, throw them away or return them to the store you purchased them from for a full refund.

If you believe you’ve consumed eggs that have been recalled, you should monitor yourself for symptoms of Salmonella infection, which include diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps. Those symptoms can occur within 12 to 72 hours of eating contaminated food, and can last for up to seven days.

If you have questions about the recall, you can contact Country Eggs, LLC directly at 1-(800)-722-3447 or info@countryeggsllc.com.
