The Department of Homeland Security has opened up a new immigration detention facility inside the Louisiana State Penitentiary, known as Angola. The detention centre is designed to hold more than 400 undocumented immigrants convicted of serious crimes, including murder and rape. As of Tuesday, 51 detainees had already arrived, according to US Immigrations Customs and Enforcement. American pilot Ethan Guo has been released from a Chilean air base in Antarctica after being detained for two months for allegedly illegally landing his plane in the country’s territory.Mr Guo, 20, was released on Saturday.
