France’s Justice Minister has admitted to security flaws in protecting the Louvre Museum in Paris after robbers stole imperial jewels in broad daylight on Sunday. Gerald Darmanin said it gave France a terrible image, as the thieves were able to park a truck mounted with a furniture lift in the middle of the city, get people up it in several minutes and grab priceless jewels. The French government says eight invaluable items were stolen including a diamond-and-emerald necklace. The Louvre remains closed to the public despite being scheduled to reopen on Monday.
