The Indian version of the popular reality show ‘The Traitors’ started streaming from June 12, 2025 and it didn’t take long for drama to take over. What started as a friendly bond between Apoorva Mukhija and Uorfi Javed quickly turned sour, both on and off camera.From sisterhood to showdownIn the first episode, Apoorva and Uorfi seemed to click instantly. They made a playful ‘Behen Code’ pact and promised loyalty to each other. But things changed just as fast as they began. It all started when Uorfi noticed Apoorva crying. She kept asking why she was upset, and Apoorva, feeling overwhelmed, snapped. This didn’t sit well with Uorfi, who later told others that Apoorva wasn’t on her level professionally and should show more respect.Apoorva opens up in emotional videoOn 15 June, a few days after the episode aired, Apoorva shared a YouTube video explaining her side of the story. She revealed that she had a personal reason for breaking down. Before entering the show, she had an argument with her mother and had been promised three phone calls home. But when she asked to call her family, she was denied, which made her feel even worse.While Jannat Zubair quietly comforted her, Apoorva asked her to keep the matter private. Later, when Uorfi questioned her again, Apoorva replied sharply, “Not everything is about you, Uorfi.”Uorfi’s outburst off-cameraApoorva then described what happened when the cameras stopped rolling. After a task ended, Uorfi suddenly shouted at her from across the room, saying, “Bhch*d Apoorva idhar aao.” Trying to stay calm, Apoorva replied, “Aaram se,” but this only made things worse.According to Apoorva, Uorfi then said loudly, “Tumhe pata hai tum kisse baat kar rahi ho? Main tumhare level pe hoon kya? Tumhari aukaat nahi hai mujhse baat karne ki.” (Do you know who you’re talking to? Am I on your level? You don’t have the status to talk to me).Apoorva was heartbroken by the incident. In her video, she said, “I was still crying… mujhe bahot zyada bezzati hui thi, yaar. This was my worst fear — someone saying that I’m just an influencer and that I don’t deserve to be on the show. I already felt that way. I felt like an imposter, and I knew the audience would agree with her. I just felt so bad.” Respect and ‘levels’ become a war of wordsUorfi, on the other hand, believed she was being disrespected. After Apoorva snapped at her, Uorfi told others that she didn’t want to continue being friends with her. She claimed that Apoorva wasn’t at her level and needed to learn how to talk properly.
