    Veteran actor Nana Patekar declined a Hollywood role in Ridley Scott’s ‘Body of Lies,’ revealed filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. Scott offered Patekar the role eventually played by Mark Strong, but Patekar refused, stating he didn’t want to portray a terrorist on screen. The 2008 espionage thriller featured Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe.

Kashyap approached the veteran actor with the offer, but Nana reportedly declined, stating he wouldn’t portray a terrorist on screen.Body of Lies, released in 2008, is directed by Ridley Scott and features a star-studded cast including Leonardo DiCaprio, Russell Crowe, Mark Strong, and Oscar Isaac. The espionage thriller received mixed reviews from critics, holding a 62 percent rating on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.Nana’s Recent Work and Upcoming ProjectsMeanwhile, Nana Patekar was last seen in Vivek Agnihotri’s The Vaccine War, which also featured Pallavi Joshi in a pivotal role. He has two upcoming projects lined up: the Marathi film Ole Aale and the Hindi movie Laal Batti, the latter marking his debut on the OTT platform.
