    Flight operations at the Ahmedabad airport remain suspended after an Air India plane crashed.

    Air India plane crash news: As flight operations at Ahmedabad remain temporarily suspended following the crash of a London-bound Air India plane, airlines have issued travel advisory for passengers. An Air India plane crashed on Thursday afternoon immediately after takeoff near the Ahmedabad airport. IndiGo posted on X (formerly X), “Following the incident near Ahmedabad Airport and the resulting runway restrictions, flight operations are impacted. Our thoughts are with the families of those affected. We seek your kind understanding, as these are truly challenging times for everyone. If your flight is impacted, you may rebook or claim a full refund via our website. Our teams remain on standby across all channels to support you.“SpiceJet said, “#TravelUpdate : All operations at Ahmedabad Airport are suspended until further notice due to an aircraft incident. Passengers are requested to keep a check on their flight status through link: https://spicejet.com/#status. Please stay tuned for further updates.”Also Check | Air India plane crash live updatesAn IndiGo flight operating between Kolkata and Ahmedabad had to return to NSCBI Airport on Thursday after becoming airborne, as Ahmedabad airport was shut following the Air India aircraft accident post take-off, according to officials.The IndiGo service 6E-318, which took off from Kolkata at 1.49 pm, had to turn back whilst in flight, confirmed an Airports Authority of India (AAI) representative in Kolkata.The aircraft, which had initially departed from stand number 53, was carrying 179 travellers. The plane touched down in Kolkata approximately at 2.52 pm, as stated by the representative.The Boeing 787-8 aircraft that met with an accident whilst heading to London had 242 individuals aboard, including both passengers and crew. Air India confirmed the breakdown of nationalities: 169 passengers were from India, 53 held British citizenship, seven were Portuguese citizens, and one passenger was from Canada.
