Aamir Khan hints ‘Mahabharat’ might be his last film: ‘After doing this, I will feel that I have nothing left to do’

Aamir Khan, one of India’s most loved actors, recently shared exciting news about his next big project. After the release of his upcoming movie ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, Aamir plans to start working on his dream film, ‘Mahabharat’. What’s more, he hinted that this grand film might even be his last!A dream comes true: Making ‘Mahabharat’In a recent chat with Raj Shamani, Aamir Khan spoke about what he wants his last film to be. After a thoughtful pause, he said it is ‘Mahabharat’, a story he has always wanted to bring to life. He revealed, “It’s layered, it has emotion, it has scale, everything you find in the world, you will find in Mahabharat.”This shows how deeply Aamir feels about this epic tale. He believes ‘Mahabharat’ holds every kind of story and feeling, making it a perfect choice for a big, meaningful film.Could this be Aamir’s final act? What could surprised many is that Aamir hinted that ‘Mahabharat’ might be the last film he makes. He said, “Maybe after doing this, I will feel that I have nothing left to do. I cannot do anything after this, as the material of this film is going to be like that.”He added, “I hope that I die with my shoes on, but since you are asking, this is the one thing I can think of. Perhaps after this, I will feel that I don’t need to do anything else.”The big plan for ‘Mahabharat’Aamir had also talked to ‘The Hollywood Reporter’ about how big this project will be. He said, “That’s one of my biggest ambitions,” and that just writing the story will take years. When asked if he will act in it, he said, “We’ll see who we should cast based on who’s appropriate for which part.” This means he might not play a role himself but will choose the best actors for the story. When asked if he would be directing the big film, Aamir said that ‘Mahabharat’ is a story that can’t be told all at once. While it’s too early to say if he will be the director, he shared that the story will be made across several films. So, to complete it within a set time, they will need more than one director.
