K-drama heartthrobs are already household names, while Thai BLs have taken over watchlists – but Malaysian stars are now lighting up screens, and they deserve just as much attention. A new generation of Malaysian actors is redefining what it means to be a star, with raw talent, magnetic screen presence, and a kind of authenticity that resonates deeply.

Some of these stars are making waves with breakout performances and others are steadily building their followings – one reel, one drama, one unforgettable role at a time. Here are the Malaysian actors rising fast and ready to take over – and the world should be watching.

    Awal Ashaari

The man needs no introduction – he’s a style icon, a proud super dad, and a seasoned actor. Best known for his roles in Dalam Setiap Sujud and Dia Semanis Honey, he has long been a familiar face on Malaysian television. A key figure in the local fashion scene, he frequently partners with luxury labels such as Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren, and Dior. Known for his bold and ever-evolving style, he’s recently been turning heads with bleached hair and statement-making looks.

    Nadhir Nasar

He needs no build-up – he’s one of Malaysia’s most talked-about rising stars. The 28-year-old actor, model, and director began his career in fashion at 19 before making a seamless transition to acting. While he’s appeared in several storylines, it was his breakout role as Naim in Projek: High Council (2023) that firmly put him on the map. From Gucci and Dior to YSL, he’s also turned heads with his bold fashion game.

    Meerqeen

He is more than just a familiar face – he’s a heartthrob, a rising star, and a fashion favorite. With standout roles in Melur Untuk Firdaus, Nenek Bongkok Tiga, and Angkara Cinta, he’s quickly established himself as one of Malaysia’s most talked-about young actors. His bold, individualistic look hasn’t gone unnoticed – he was recently named YSL Beauty’s first Malaysian brand ambassador, fronting its foundation and fragrance lines with signature flair.

    Amir Ahnaf

He is quickly emerging as a standout name in Malaysian entertainment. The 25-year-old actor and model first gained attention as a Hero Remaja 2021/2022 finalist before making his acting debut in Akim & Mira: Kisah Cinta 1999 (2022). His breakout came as Kahar in Projek: High Council (2023), a role so impactful it led to the spin-off. Off-screen, Amir is also making waves in fashion with campaigns for BVLGARI and Skintific Malaysia. A former band vocalist with a passion for silat and rugby, he continues to win fans with his versatility and grounded charm.

    Mierul Aiman

A rising force in Malaysian entertainment, at just 26, the actor and model made waves with his breakout role as Fakhri in Projek: High Council (2023). Before stepping into acting, he won Hero Remaja 2021, where his charisma first caught public attention. With a growing presence in fashion – most recently as a brand ambassador for Bulan Bintang – he is fast becoming a household name. He also holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering, proving he’s as sharp as he is charming.

    Hun Haqeem

He is a rising star making his mark across acting, modeling, and hosting in Malaysia’s entertainment scene. He first caught attention as Ariff in Cari Aku Di Syurga (2019), with his role as Jaafar in Kampung People (2019–2020) propelling him further into the spotlight. Beyond acting, Hun has stepped into music with his track Untuk Semua Jiwa featured in Soloz: Game of Life (2025). A familiar face in fashion and a friend of YSL Beauty Malaysia, he balances star power with grounded charm.

    Aniq Suhair

He is quickly rising through the ranks as one of Malaysia’s most promising young actors. With notable roles in Chomel (2021), Liar (2023), and Bungalow Section 12 (2024), he’s proven his range across genres and characters. Beyond acting, he is turning heads in the fashion world with a personal style that blends clean, modern looks with standout pieces – from crisp white slacks and Dior shoes to bringing fresh energy to traditional wear, regularly modelling vibrant outfits for Desa Murni Batik across his social platforms.

    Aedy Ashraf

He is a seasoned force in Malaysian entertainment, known for his transition from celebrated child actor to respected leading man. He rose to fame with Tentang Bulan (2006), earning a Best Child Actor nomination at the 20th Malaysian Film Festival. His impressive portfolio includes roles in Oh My English! (2011–2013), Projek: Anchor SPM (2021), and Kahar: Kapla High Council (2024). He has also made his mark as a TV host and brand collaborator, working with Skintific Malaysia, Puma, and UNIQLO. Though he’s stepped back from the limelight and now resides in his hometown, his enduring presence in the industry speaks to his talent, versatility, and lasting influence.
